Face-to-face, one phone

Two push-to-talk panes on one screen — the listener's side is flipped 180° so your partner reads it right-side up. Hold to speak, release to hear the translation.

Split-ear translation

With headphones, your ear hears your translation, your partner's ear hears theirs. One phone, zero overlap, completely private conversation.

Listen mode

Hold the phone up to a speaker — a phone call on loudspeaker, a gate announcement, someone across a counter. Get the translation on your side, one-way.

How it works

Three taps.
One conversation.

01

Pick the two languages

Choose one language for each side from a dropdown. Your last selection is remembered for next time.

02

Hold your button, speak

Each side has its own push-to-talk. The listener's pane is rotated 180° — your partner reads their translation right-side up.

03

Release and hear

The translation plays back on your partner's side. Wearing headphones? Each translation lands in the right ear automatically.

Questions

Good to know.

Is Ktranslate free?

Yes. It's free to use — no ads, no subscription, no in-app purchases.

Do I need an internet connection?

Yes. Ktranslate streams audio to our translation server in real time, so you need Wi-Fi or mobile data. On-device voice detection runs locally, but transcription and translation happen on the server.

How private is my audio?

Audio is streamed to our server for translation and is not stored after your session ends. Fully on-device translation is not available yet.

Is there an iOS version?

Android only for now. We're shipping fast on Android first — iOS is not on the roadmap yet.
